Yvonne Cordwell has been in practice as a family solicitor for over 20 years and became a partner in Stevens Son and Pope Solicitors in 1999. She specialises in all aspects of family work and works not only within the traditional court based system but enjoys working both as a Resolution trained mediator, qualifying in 1999 and accredited by the Family Mediation Council in 2015 and as a Resolution trained collaborative lawyer, qualifying in 2007. She is a member of Resolution and the Law Society Family Panel.
She believes it is important for separating couples to negotiate their own way through separation and sees her role as providing guidance, support, information and advice when helping negotiate the potential minefield that lies ahead. Outside the office she enjoys lawn bowls and dancing.

"I also felt supported throughout by knowing that my lawyer was both looking after my interests, and honouring the process.
"It wasn’t easy, but in the end, I felt that both I and my ex-partner were able to close the chapter knowing that we had done the “right” thing by each other.
